Books are hard to use as a quick reference, as they are often thick. The Cisco dictionary programs are better for a quick reference if you have access to a computer. Otherwise, you will find that books are all-inclusive if you have time.
Sometimes you will get help from Cisco without even looking! The Cisco IOS has commands already built into the system that will allow you to quickly find out what different functions and commands do. You can also get a quick description of each command by searching through the different help features. You won’t get a thorough description, however, so you should not rely on this help as a learning tool, but rather as reference.
